Echo Suppression
An attempt to reduce the feedback caused by closed-loop gain by applying a moderate amount of attenuation to an audio path. Simpler but less effective than echo cancellation.

Enhanced Data rates for Global Evolution. Enhanced GSM protocol that allows data rates of up to 384 kbits/s.

A programmable chip inserted into the telephone to permanently store numbers.
EMC
ElectroMagnetic Compatibility. The property of a signal to exist with interference (or another signal) without information loss.
EMI
ElectroMagnetic Interference. An electrical disturbance in a system due to electromagnetic waves from another electronic or electromechanical device.
EMS (Enhanced Messaging Service)

ElectroStatic Discharge. Electrical discharge resulting from a charged object earthing through a conductive object.

One of the oldest and probably widest used LAN technologies. Allows data to be sent at rates of up to 10 Mbits/s over twisted pair copper wire. Compare with Fast Ethernet.
